St. Louis, MO – Beckwood Press Company, a leading US manufacturer of custom hydraulic and servo-electric presses, recently received an order from a world-class operation which specializes in maintenance, engineering, and logistics support for Navy and Marine Corps aviation. This 100-ton hot forming press symbolizes not just Beckwood’s elite expertise in modern titanium forming technology, but also our dedication to supporting the American defense industry.

This new hot form press will be used to form titanium aerospace components at elevated temperatures up to 1,600F. This press will help our customer to form complex titanium components without facing springback or cracking issues which are common with these alloys. An insulated door system with thermal partitions will help maximize energy efficiency and heat retention, while also elevating personnel safety.

As part of a turnkey package, we will also be delivering custom-made tooling which corresponds to a parts list provided by the customer. In addition to these custom tools, Beckwood will also provide a die rack for easy tool storage and access, and a complete turnkey install at the customer’s facility. These auxiliary activities are spearheaded by our own Service Operations department, whose support was instrumental in cementing Beckwood as the only choice for the job in this customer’s mind.

Beckwood’s long time experience with engineering presses for both aerospace and defense applications alike has laid the foundation for our legacy as a trusted partner in custom press engineering and reliable aftermarket support. With this project underway and more coming soon, Beckwood demonstrates a clear commitment to empowering defense manufacturers across the nation with the precision and service that they need.
