Beckwood’s 2-post, or 2-column, hydraulic presses are suitable for heavy-duty applications that use dies which can fit within a bed size of up to 36” front to back. Jobs requiring a larger bed size typically need the additional ram guidance and rigidity delivered by our 4-post or gib-guided presses.

Our 2-post presses require less frame steel to counteract the yawning that can occur with traditional C-frame presses, making them more cost efficient. Additionally the enhanced ram guidance offered by 2 posts minimizes deflection for a more consistent die alignment when compared to C-frame presses.

Since only 2 columns and bushing sets are required, a 2-post press is often more economical than a traditional 4-post press.

Advantages of 2-Post Presses

  • Lower cost than C-frame and 4-post presses
  • Ram rigidity allows for better die alignment and more consistent part quality on heavy duty applications than C-frame presses
  • Modular design
  • Bolster size up to 36” front to back with two sided access
