The Discovery Process begins the minute you make contact with Beckwood. You’ll be impressed with our responsiveness and knowledge. We will work to understand your unique application and use our wealth of resources to propose the best solution for your operation.
1: You contact us.
2: We learn about your forming challenges.
3: We provide a price quotation and preliminary press design.
Step 2: Design
The Design Process begins once you choose Beckwood as your partner. You are assigned a dedicated Project Manager (PM) and an engineering team. The PM acts as your main point of contact, simplifying communication and ensuring your project progresses with a unified understanding of success. Your engineering team consists of multi-discipline engineers who collaborate to develop the custom design identified during the Discovery Process.
1: We hold an Engineering kick-off meeting.
2: You receive press approval drawings in phases:
- Structural
- Hydraulic
- Electrical
3: Engineering incorporates your required changes.
4: Finite Element Analysis is performed on the final design.
Step 3: Build & TEst
Beckwood presses are engineered to thrive in the harshest manufacturing environments, so it should be no surprise that our Build & Test Process is incredibly stringent. Uncompromising quality standards, a rigorous Quality Management System (QMS), and continuous testing at maximum capacity ensure your machine is ready for any challenge.
1: You receive progress updates at key stages of the build process:
- Arrival of raw materials
- Hookup of hydraulic and electrical systems
- Final assembly & aesthetics
2: An 8-hour continuous run-off is performed at maximum capacity.
3: Our Quality Team completes a final inspection
4: You attend a run-off (if desired) and Factory Acceptance Testing.
5: We finalize programming structure based on comments from run-off.
Step 4: Deliver & Support
Beckwood provides an incredibly thorough Delivery & Support Process to ensure your investment is profitable and protected. Once the press arrives at your facility, a Beckwood Installation Specialist is on-site to supervise the assembly, confirm proper operation, and to teach your maintenance and operations staff to safely use the press to its fullest potential. During this comprehensive training program, your team will learn to operate the HMI, on-board diagnostic system, and preventive maintenance monitors (OEE).
1: We coordinate shipping and arrival timeline with you.
2: We supervise press installation and start-up. (Turn-key installation is available.)
3: We train your operators and maintenance personnel.
4: We support you long-term with extended maintenance packages and on-board technologies.
