St. Louis, MO – September 25, 2025 – Beckwood Press Company, a leading manufacturer of custom hydraulic and servo-electric presses, recently received an order from a prominent aerospace manufacturer for a 500-ton hot form retrofit. This upgrade underscores Beckwood’s continued commitment to supporting the aerospace industry with custom-tailored solutions that improve performance, reliability, and part quality.
This retrofit will be on the customer’s current 500-Ton Nugier press. The retrofit includes precision-engineered heated platens designed to meet the rigorous demands of aerospace forming applications. By integrating Beckwood’s latest hot forming technology with the Nugier press, the manufacturer will achieve greater temperature uniformity, enhanced process control, and improved uptime—all critical factors in meeting the aerospace industry’s increasing demand for titanium components.
This project also highlights Beckwood’s newly established Service Department, which was created to expand the company’s retrofit, rebuild, and field service capabilities. The hot form retrofit is a direct result of these expanded offerings, ensuring customers can modernize existing equipment while continuing to receive the world-class support Beckwood is known for.
“We are thrilled to provide aerospace manufacturers with service solutions that extend the performance of their legacy equipment,” said Richard Arthur, Director of Service at Beckwood Press. “This retrofit is a great example of how our Service Department can help customers maximize uptime, maintain reliability, and get the most out of their presses for years to come.”
Beckwood has a long history of supplying presses and forming technologies to aerospace suppliers around the globe, ranging from sheet hydroforming and composite compression molding, to advanced titanium hot forming equipment. This latest retrofit further demonstrates the company’s ability to tailor solutions to meet the unique needs of aerospace manufacturers while reinforcing Beckwood’s reputation as a trusted partner in the industry.
